One of the three airfields recently upgraded by Argyll & Bute Council boasting 500 metres of tarmac adjacent to the golf course in the south west of the island. PPR from Oban Airport 01631 710910. Hotel, ‘the Colonsay’ 01951 200316 (2.66 miles by road) highly recommended and may be able to arrange transport on prior notice. Bicycles are an ideal way of exploring this beautiful island - bring them with you or hire when you get there. Beware that mobile phone coverage is at best unreliable at the airfield.

This airfield has significant obstacles in the approach/climb out from either runway with high ground to the east and a rocky outcrop to the west. Severe turbulence can be expected when there is more than 15kts of wind from the S-SE. When parking, please do not obstruct the tarmac apron or the run-off gravel areas to the sides of the runway. It should be possible to push aircraft back onto the grass surrounding the apron.
