Germany in general, and perhaps Bavaria in particular, is riddled with little towns that are a delight to visit. Rothenburg ob der Tauber, west-southwest of Nuremberg, is one of them. The airfield offers 950 of tarmac runway. It's narrow, so it may mess with your perspective. Landing and overnight parking: 12 EUR. Additional night parking: 6 EUR. Taxi to town was 20 EUR, including a 5 EUR surcharge for a large car (6 pax).

The town itself is really nice: it's medieval and very well kept with an intact wall around the city center. Lots of tourists, so lots of restaurants offering hearty Bavarian food and drink. A local specialty is Schneeballen (snowballs), a kind of pastry that looks really sweet but isn't. It can be eaten with a cup of coffee as well as with a glass of red wine.
