The last few lines of that article state
"They (the EU) are adopting a policy of sharing with non-producing countries globally, and with their neighbours, which of course means less for themselves.

This is seen as utter foolishness, and failure, by the UK government. Its measure of success is how much its gets for people in the UK.

On the other hand, the EU hopes to reach a herd immunity level of vaccination in the summer, probably only a month or two after the UK. It will have done so while showing some sense of global responsibility."

I the EU in the article is shorthand for EU States which is of course very common usage. Herd immunity level for Covid is not known as yet but could be as high as 95% so the timescales suggested on current progress are ambitious shall we say.

The goal ought to be to vaccinate the bulk of the vulnerable population across the whole continent and then the whole planet so that the disease impact on healthcare systems is manageable, society can open up with reasonable precautions in place and the rate of mutation is slowed.

The UK is now in a position where it should be focussing on second doses and sharing with others, but it's got carried away and a successful programme is beginning to lose its way if we're not careful.

The other method doesn’t work

In the context in which it is being used, it’s deliberately and misleadingly emotive. IMVHO.

If the story on the front of the Daily Telegraph is correct, then there’s a Dutch vaccine factory that has received £21 million of UK taxpayer’s money to significantly enhance production capacity, and not one cent of EU or Dutch. The EU are now angling to block the population of the UK receiving any product from this facility.

Careful when opening this link:

Careful indeed, because the article is utter rubbish. Rather than tear it all apart, junk line by junk line, let's get to the heart of the matter with one sentence in the article;

As a matter of law, both the EU and the UK have a case

If the EU had any case at law, AstraZeneca would have been in the EU Courts weeks ago. The EU lawyer's silence is deafening. The EU has no legal case so it's resorted to bullying and changing laws retrospectively... and doing it so badly that even that isn't working.

EU members now negotiating to buy the Russian Sputnik vaccine,

Putin’s plan is coming together:
Encourage break up of EU, (the subject that shall not be named),
Offer face-saving product, (further in-fighting occurs about the rights and wrongs),
Result is to remove ongoing threats to former USSR border encroachment and reclaim former territory,
Continue to subvert democratic state networks

I would not dispute the idea that all these developments suit the current Russian regime very nicely, but I'm not sure that I'd attribute all of them to a coherent plan rather than (typical) opportunism

Erm, am I living in a different reality? It's surely quite clear even to the most casual of observers that the party doing the most to encourage the break up of the EU is resident in Berlaymont?
