Highly recommended and addictive

Yes - mandatory viewing the first time around. I hadn't met as many obviously barking NHS managers the first time around, so it may be funnier on a 2nd go :D

Just checked. Britbox or Prime, but six quid for nine episodes on Prime isn't exorbitant.

Not enough hours in the day!

Following that lot in bed on an iPad Mini would drive me nuts: The forum is as dead as a Dodo from 23.00 to 07.00.

My only other internet access (apart from an even smaller iPhone) is my laptop which is effectively chained to the desk in my study by a myriad of cables.

A good film on a big bedroom telly with good Sennheiser wireless headphones so as not to disturb 'er indoors is a far better proposition.

I have after all these years discovered that there is some seriously good stuff on Netflix (and Prime).

And if I just want to listen, Apple music does the business.

Still can't sleep for more than 4 hours...................

break, break @GrahamB :Amazon have unceremoniously cancelled my DVD order of Harry, etc etc, with no reason given, but I've found it on a streaming network.................

In the early 2000s, I lived for two years in Brazil. I had no TV and no internet at home. I worked long hours, exercised a lot, read a lot of books, spent Saturdays under a tree in the park, went to bars and restaurants with friends, took weekend trips to the beach,... And I still felt I had plenty of time, despite spending two hours in traffic each working day.

Now? Even when working eight hours per day from home (no commute) I don't have time to do anything. Internet, TV and streaming are huge time thieves. On the other hand, without them time would have passed very slowly during the pandemic when there's little to no socialising.

At least I managed to get an hour in the air today! Clear skies and no winds. :D But I fly alone these days, which is so much less fun. :(

I have never understood having a television in the bedroom, or the kitchen.

But tele isn't a big part of my life and I prefer to get away from it.

yeah, right:

I am guessing there will be lots of tele-watching in our house over the next two weeks.

So these constant threads recommending streamed series from all over the world that you have posted over the last umpty years are all watched on your iPh.., er, android phone?

No.

On the television in the living room, where it belongs.

But if anyone else feels they need a tele in the bedroom to complete their life, that's their choice. Nothing to do with me.

We have just started "....By the Lake" - there's three series started with "Vanished" (All4, Walter Presents) . So far the standard plot - strong similarities to a similar Walloon offering - but watchable enough.

Parks & Recreation on Netflix from Feb 1 - just when we run out of Big Bang Theory - will be the next long com we attempt. Otherwise Disenchantment or 3rd series of Norsemen- the first two were great but they killed the leads off at the end of Series 2 so I've no idea what to expect.

Need a recommendation for decent history doc - we've watched the two big PBS series on Civil War and Dustbowl and run out of Rome/Greece/Lucy Worsley.

Hannah Fry's maths series is being repeated but no decent hard science to be found on TV.

Guardian this week has been doing "working-from-bed". I've no idea how I could prod recalciltrant bits for hours from my pit. There must be a kind of work from bed with which I'm unfamiliar.

The Netflix documentary "The Vietnam War: A Film by Ken Burns" was a good as it gets IMO, but for some strange reason it is no longer on the UK website. Shame. But it is available on Prime Video for £19.

Agreed. It's excellent. Did he ever do a bad documentary?
