I know a very limited amount about this. I believe it was not a local aircraft. Yes there is a strip at troutbeck, very pleasant.

Sad for those involved.

Indeed, it seems that it is more active than I thought. There is some confusion locally about which Troutbeck (there is another one in south Lakeland) but consensus seems to be emerging that it was "in the hills" just to the north of the Troutbeck/Keswick strip in north Lakeland.

Very sad. Fly very regularly around the lakes and have been into Troutbeck several times - probably my favourite local strip, always a very friendly reception.

Certainly it makes it feel much more real when it's an area you know very well.

Always sad to see news of a fatal crash :(

I wish they wouldn’t put up images of the crashed aircraft, just seems disrespectful to the pilot and his/her family. (Seen on the MSN news)
