Does anyone have contact details for Napps Field? A trip to Billericay beckons!

Sadly Bob Napp died a few years ago, and his son has less interest in aviation than his father. I do have a mobile number for his son but it may be out of date - will send by PM.

As alternates, how about West Horndon or Thurrock?

I'm not a Dickie, by any means (Kentish Maid by birth) and, happily, just dropping off somebody who wants to go there (no idea why). Napps Field is ideal for that.
Landing instructions were, "try not to mow down any fishermen"!

Ah memories : New Boots and Panties

Got bought that as a pressie from a group of junior colleagues in 1980 at Norwich for getting them through their Diploma exams with extra tutorials.
Still play it on my 1966 Hacker GP15 to hear the good old low-Fi crackles.

'She took me to ve cleaners, and uvver misdemeanours,
But I go' righ' up between 'er rum and 'er ribena...

We were thinking of flying into Napps on Saturday. We got PPR but on arrival overhead the runway was full of persons and some caravans. So don't rely on it being available, would be my advice. Laindon is apparently good. West Horndon too, if you are happy with a short strip and hedges at either end.

I think my hearing must have gone even back then.
