If D saw two the same colour he would correctly call out the other colour.
He doesn’t meaning he sees two colours and can’t call.
C, knowing this, sees a white hat and knows he is wearing black so calls it out.
C has a thin head :D

Fans of puzzles, easyish to fiendish, may like to be reminded of these Gloucestershire products; also that they were compiled by public servants in their own time unpaid, and all profits go to a laudable charity:

Sort of a puzzle - has anyone done any of these quizzes...?

That was fun! I did the one with the movies. I found 41 out of 65.

Meant to post this ages back. C (like them all), can only see forward, so cannot know whether there is anyone behind him to shout out or stay quiet.

They all know there are four hats - two black, two white.

For the benefit of Bill and anybody else who is confused. What I did not tell you ..... BC and D buried A. B and C buried D.

B although knackered by now had to bury C on his own.

After so much waiting A was not happy so he was given a cool lager. He became even more agitated when they left it beside him.

The soldier holding the gun then made the barman, E, bury B.

D then complained that he couldn’t see B properly so the soldier asked C if he would be kind enough to move his head slightly to one side. He refused. E was then told to move the now warm lager from A to the side of C’s head. C didn’t budge. E was then told to replace the warm lager with cool. That worked, the condensation on the glass was irresistible, he moved his head sideways to try and drink.

D said he could now see B and C.

A was still not happy.

The soldier then put each hat on but predictably C’s kept falling off. That had to be secured with gaffer tape.

I hope that helps your processing :D
