Where have you been? What have you seen?

I can't honestly recall now, but there were only a handful of clubs and most were PA28 based.

The one I chose had a good fleet of Robin DR400's, al mostly under a couple of years old.

The one's I can now find are:-

and

http://www.aeroclub-antibes.fr/aeroclub ... cote_azur/

I've a feeling that it was the latter and very happy with them who checked me out efficiently.

A Robin with it's airy visibility and agility is ideal for viewing the coastal area and La Corniche.

I was thinking a little more distantly than that. Back in the late 1980s, there was a British run school in Cannes called Flight Training International (FTI). They offered intensive PPLs (and other ratings) in the sunshine, on a fleet of brand new red and white DR400s. Their registrations were mostly in the form G-FTIx. A number are still in circulation. The school folded at some point in the mid 1990s.

In a curious connection to FLYER magazine (pre Seager publishing days), the very first edition offered as a prize, an all expenses paid PPL with FTI in Cannes.
