hmm, thinking of aircraft type names ..

Virgin:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santos-Dumont_Demoiselle

Joseph the carpenter, tricky, this near homonym of carver is not quite right:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviation_Traders_Carvair

nor analogously 'chippy'

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havill ... 1_Chipmunk

Infant:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Baby

Shepherd, again tricky, but 'farmers':

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auster_Agricola

or

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan-Gurevich_MiG-19

Magi often later misrendered as 'Kings':

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westland_Sea_King

Camel is easier:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopwith_Camel

or

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_Tu-104

Stable companions, 'cow' or 'donkey' are tricky but NATO used BULL for

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_Tu-4

and HORSE for

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakovlev_Yak-24

.. further suggestions welcome .. :)

the joys of retirement :D
(as mentioned elsewhere, I have a lifetime Board of Trade, pre-CAA, PPL .. :thumright: )

Oh, I forgot 'angel', which of course is from the Greek for 'messenger':

Obviously G-BLEW is the innkeeper.

Which provides an opportunity to tell the school Nativity story again:

Little Johnny really, really, REALLY wants to play Joseph.

But he's been a little <censored> all year, so the teacher is having none of it. Instead, he is given (reluctantly) the non-speaking part of the curmudgeonly innkeeper, who - in the script - opens the door to J & M+bump, points dismissively at the manger and slams the door in their faces.

Come opening night, with a vast sea of proud parents gazing at the stage from the depths of the school hall.

J & M+bump knock on the door, which is opened by a beaming innkeeper.

"Oh, yes - we've LOADS of room. Come on in!" :D

Ah come on, how could anyone have missed the majestic V-tailed Fouga 'Magi'-ster

...ok...it's French, so it turned up late and with a certain attitude problem....
