Right... I have changed a few settings.

I've updated Tapatalk plugin, so that may solve some issues with that.

I have disabled "post timeout" - this may help but unsure at this point.

There are other changes I could make but trying to make minimal changes and monitor what happens.

Just to be clear, it's doesn't feel like a timeout issue - the connection seems to be dropping.

The failure is instantaneous - the millisecond you click the post button, you're immediately dumped to the screen that you've seen screenshotted above.

Thanks for the info. The logs arent being very helpful. I will keep looking for answers.

But an instant timeout is not usually a code issue but either HTTP or a DNS issue. Probably the former. Will have to keep looking.

Right... I managed to replicate the problem on my phone using Chrome. It went straight to an "err_connection_failed" notice.

I think I worked out the problem - the server firewall was possibly dropping some connections to the server (hence the instant page error and not a timeout)... This happened to some people more often than others.

I have adjusted the firewall rules.
Please let me know if you're still having posting problems here - then I will look at making more changes.

If I get no responses, I will assume the problem is fixed. If you are a user who has had the problem and it is now fixed - please also let me know :)

Thanks

Thanks for the update - I have gone down another route and looked at the SSL protocols. Apparently, Safari does suffer with dropping a particular "handshake" that we use.
http://serverfault.com/questions/721198 ... r-browsers

So I have updated our supported protocol list - and will test again.

I am able to test the error on my phone - I preview a post and then leave it for 25mins, then I get the "error" page when I try to preview again. Will continue my testing...

Morning!

Image

I'm not sure I've seen any link between the amount of time spent in preview. I rarely if ever use preview. The whole thing seems almost entirely random.

Wouldn't it fail every time if it was an unsupported SSL cipher?

I have noticed another problem which needs looking at though. I often randomly see the 'padlock' disappear in Safari. It does this whenever there are SSL issues. Digging into it, I see:-

This issue in various places...
