I make a mean minted lamb burger, with garlicky cream cheese filing. One of my Christmas pressies is a burger press, so I'll be making more in 2015!

Second lot of 'burgers' last night. Made mini ones as meatballs.
Beef mince, seasoned with pink pepper and anise. Sauce made with tomatoes, onion, garlic various veg, and capers.
Mmm..

did i miss the newbury burger-fest ? i ride there with my biker friends,,,at the weekends the waitresses wear USA attire, and the rock'n'roll music completes the happy atmosphere. i also make a mean beef, or lamb burger with flavouring that suits my and my fellow diner's mood. try mixing beef and pork mince equal portions, next time. might need add breadcrumbs to bind it as the pork is a bit moist. that 'diners, drive ins and dives' prog on telly is an inspiration for all things burger-ish.
bon [ burger ] appetite.

My wife makes lovely pork and pineapple burgers in homemade baps. I'm not sure what's in them in any details though.

For those twixt Blackbushe and White Waltham, the best burger to be had is at the Greyhound Gastropub in Finchhampstead. They do it medium rare in a way that rarely works with burgers, slightly pink but not raw-tasting, in a brioche bun with the cheese of your choice. Top notch chips as well.

I was once at the Reno races watching Steve Hinton Jr rack up yet another win, and a couple of merkins I had been getting merrily smashed with through the afternoon suggested we go back into Reno to what in the event was an un-reconstructed 1970's dive of a casino with a fast food bar in the back, for an 'aaarrrrrful aarful burger'. I said I wasn't keen as a sub-standard offal burger didn't sound like my kind of thing. It turned out they meant the world famous (in Nevada) Awful Awful Burger, so called because it is awful big and awful nice. It was indeed that, and no offal was to be had.

(to my relief)
