The Red Bull Air Race World Championship is the ultimate motorsport series in the sky and has been the driving force in aerial sport since 2003, thrilling fans and leaving them wanting more. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Head of Aviation & Sport in our offices in Salzburg (Austria). In this role, you´ll develop, oversee and manage all aviation related topics of Red Bull Air Race to ensure safe and competitive racing. Furthermore, you´ll contribute to the overall success of the company by adopting an innovative approach and setting global benchmarks within your area of competence.

Your responsibilities:

Delivery of Red Bull Air Race Championship
As Head of Aviation & Sport, you´ll be responsible for delivering the Red Bull Air Race Championship and ensure a traceable race processing.

Aviation & sport procedures
You´ll manage all Red Bull Air Race events and related events in accordance with local law and regulations, safety and Red Bull Air Race rules and regulations to ensure the uniqueness of the sport. You´ll act in accordance with the flight ops manual and assure that all involved parties act in compliance. Furthermore, you´ll be the point of contact for the FAI delegate.

Cooperation with Race Teams and Challenger Cup Pilots
You´ll oversee our cooperation and communication with Race Teams and Challenger Cup Pilots.

Scouting and Training of potential pilots
In this role, you´ll be responsible for the training and selection of potential future pilots.

Development of motorsport series
As Head of Aviation & Sport, you´ll contribute to the further development of the uniqueness of the sport.

Safe Status
You´ll also control the safe status of the Red Bull aircraft fleet.

Location Check
Your aviation experience will also help the GM of Red Bull Air Race in the selection of possible future locations.

Budget
Additionally, you´ll be responsible for the aviation budget.

Cooperation with R&D department
Furthermore, you´ll contribute with expertise and manpower to the Research & Development department.

Your experiences:

    Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a comparable position
    Master’s degree of advantage
    Current or previous holder of a pilots’ license (e.g. ICAO, JAR-FCL, EASA or comparable military license)
    Leadership experience & management skills
    Excellent Project Management skills
    Knowledge in flight operations
    Knowledge of aerospace engineering of advantage
    Experience as Display Director
    Fluent in English

Not for me personally - I don't have the display experience apart from anything else, but looks like a great job.

Can I suggest contacting HQ at the Society of Experimental Test Pilots via www.setp.org . I can think of quite a few ex test pilots with significant corporate or military leadership experience who might do a very good job of this and they have a mechanism for circulating job adverts to members worldwide.
