I’d like to exercise my IR(R) privileges in Europe, but that’s not allowed. So before the Brexit debacle I had intended to take the EASA BIR. But our beloved CAA decided that they were not going to bother with that qualification.
My question is, should I gain an EASA licence with a BIR, would I be allowed to exercise the BIR privileges in Europe in a G registered aircraft?
I will still have a current CAA PPL (A) and class 2 medical.

It's a very good question and sadly my understanding is no. An EASA licence with BIR would allow flying an EASA aircraft IFR in EASAland but not a G Reg.

A better strategy might be to look at CB IR which would get you a full IR you can use on a G reg anywhere on planet Earth.
