Does anyone know what paperwork a TRE would need to fill out and sign to renew an IR single pilot using cross-credit?

UK CAA require a CRE/IRR or IRE to sign an applicant's Certificate of Revalidation and CAA form SRG1157. At present, TREs are not permitted to sign for revalidation/renewal of single-pilot IRs.

A little drifty, but in the same ball park. We were discussing with a mate of mine who wants to improve over here.

If you hold a current UK PPL and also have an FAA PPL/IR issued in the States and then want to get a UK IR, rather than an IRR, can the FAA one be credited against training or exams etc ?

Applicants for the competency-based modular IR(A) holding a Part-FCL PPL or CPL and a valid IR(A) issued in compliance with the requirements of Annex 1 to the Chicago Convention by a third country may be credited in full towards the training course mentioned in paragraph 4. In order to be issued the IR(A), the applicant shall:
(a) successfully complete the skill test for the IR(A) in accordance with Appendix 7;
(b) demonstrate to the examiner during the skill test that he/she has acquired an adequate level of theoretical knowledge of air law, meteorology and flight planning and performance (IR); and
(c) have a minimum experience of at least 50 hours of flight time under IFR as PIC on aeroplanes.

Hi Neil,

Credits described above. As per Appendix 8 to Part-FCL for the IR on a SP HPA as credit towards IR-SP-SE and IR-SP-ME. You'll find the latest UK CAA version here:
