I'm struggling to find anything definite on this... I know from the NPPL days you could only fly to Europe if you had a Class 2 medical. However, if you hold an LAPL (an EASA licence) and an LAPL medical (an EASA medical) does this allow you to fly from UK to Europe? Or can you not because it's a sub-ICAO licence?

If so did the person checking know the difference?

No, therefore No, and to double up, No the pilot didn't know lapl validity and No, he couldn't believe it when I told him
