Hi guys,
Quite a difficult one for me to find the precise information.
I first had EASA PPL with SEP which is current
Then I got a NPPL with SLMG due to the club/instructor setup. this was to fly Grob109.
Now as the NPPL SLMG will expire on 8th April, I have applied to CAA to have it converted to LAPL. as per guidance on CAA website.
BUT:
I am now thinking I should really do away with this LAPL and I should convert my NPPL SLMG and add TMG to my EASA PPL.
from BGA website https://members.gliding.co.uk/topic/easa-licensing/
"How can I add a TMG class rating to my Part-FCL PPL(A)?
By carrying out the required training at an ATO.
Or when converting to an EASA FCL licence, using NPPL SLMG class rating privileges to qualify for TMG privileges."
But doesnt say how or what form to use and I already have a EASA FCL licence. I am not converting to an EASA FCL licence.
CAP804 part section4 part p page 23. /page555/930
https://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP804April2015REFONLY.pdf
states info on converting NPPL to PPL(a) TMG but It appears to be for a new issue of a PPL TMG because it wants
"Provide documentary evidence of having 45
hours flying experience in SLMGs that are
TMGs including, (to comply with FCL.210.A(a)
(1) and (2)), the following:
(i) at least 25 hours dual flight instruction; and
(ii) 10 hours of supervised solo flight time,
including at least 5 hours of solo crosscountry
flight time with at least 1 crosscountry
flight of at least 270 km (150 NM),
during which full stop landings at 2
aerodromes different from the aerodrome of
departure were made;"
I do not have the above on a SLMG but obviosuly have done that for issue of EASA SEP.
Might seem all a bit confusing but to recap, does anyone know how to add TMG to my EASA PPL via NPPL SLMG. thus eliminating the need to continue my application for LAPL with TMG rights.
Thank you.
