A huge oversight on my part, but my ppl sep rating was renewed two years ago and expires at the end of this month. I have done the requisite 12 hours and 1 hour with an instructor in the last 12 months to renew my rating, only to discover that my actual licence expired 11 months ago!
I know, I'm an idiot, but a genuine mistake only discovered today!
Am going to "fess up" to the CAA on Monday, but wanted to know what I'll have to do to renew my licence in this case?
My rating is current, just not my licence!
Will I be required to undergo a new skills test, and will I be fined for this oversight?

I wouldn't worry about getting fined or fessing up or anything like that. There's a lot of this sort of thing about at the moment.

Anyway, assuming your SEP has been signed and all that, I assume you have a JAA FCL licence. You need to apply for an EASA licence. If you've been certified for English Level 6 somewhere along the line, it should only be a case of filling in the form and sending off some money to the CAA.

Someone will be along shortly to tell you which form you need to fill out.
