With the changes due on 8th April, 2018, have flying schools and other organisations been forthcoming with options for aircraft rental to NPPL licence holders after this time?

It is my very limited understanding that permit aircraft cannot be rented and N-registered aircraft cannot be used for flying training in the UK and, therefore, do no represent a good investment for flying schools or airfields. However, I have heard that the CAA can make exemptions and I was hoping that this may be one of those occasions.

Since I cannot afford a permit or N-registered aircraft at present and shares in either category are not prevalent at nearyby airfields, it appears that my only option is to obtain an NPPL(m) and rent a microlight.

Can anyone offer any suggestions other than getting an EASA licence.
