which is great under some circumstances. TO get a LAPL medical would involve the same hoops as a class 2, without the benefits.

Thank god for the LAA/BMAA/CAA for the old NPPL medical and now the new self declaration, that is if I can do one.

It may in some cases require a similar amount of effort but not for the majority of people.

A LAPL can be issued by a GP, the standard required is lower, usually requiring therefore fewer tests for people who have had some medical issues in the past, which made getting a Class 2 unobtainable or costly and cumbersome.
