We heard that it was open......
Lots of changes, flight school different, chap who used to do the radio not there, caff is completely revamped with a nice seating area, separate pilots lounge for coffee and cake and new outdoor benches.
Simple lunch menu, baps, panninis and sausage rolls. Tea came in a pot, which was nice.
They are struggling for staff, so if you visit, bear with them. The lady who is doing the cheffing, was supposed to be front of house and the lovely, polite gal who is serving is still learning.
2 teas, a bacon and egg bap and a sausage bap came to £12, which was reasonable and served in reasonable time and piping hot.
They are also struggling with T'interweb, so take some folding in the immediate future.
No point in doing a comparison, this is a new Wickenby caff, the old one was superb, run by super friendly ladies who have found somewhere else - this is a complete reset and revamp and it has been done to a good standard.
Shame it took 2 years plus and also a shame that the runway really needs some tlc - beware the potholes of doom !
Not abandoning Mo at Leicester, he is still our favourite fella, just glad to have our local back again.
