Where have you been? What have you seen?

I know that most Forumites who fly abroad go to France, but I can heartily recommend Germany. The many small airfields are lovely (many of them serve lunch) and several years of flying holidays have taught me that small towns in Germany rarely disappoint for an overnight stay. Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Bavaria is perhaps my favourite, but I've never been disappointed.

Indeed, there are many nice places to visit in Germany. By coincidence, we just visited Rothenburg ob der Tauber in August.

Yes I’m based in Geneva. I don’t know costs for a visitor, but it’s a great experience to land here. And nowadays with the low traffic, it’s a lot easier to find a slot.

However, we could meet outside of Geneva too. There’s La Cote (LSGP) a few miles out. Another favourite of mine is Gruyère (LSGT) with a beautiful approach around the castle on the hill (not to mention its famous double cream and meringue that can be tasted on the airfield’s cafe!). Lots of great airfields in Switzerland :)
