Where have you been? What have you seen?

Did a little trip last week. The heater in the L-18C is not the greatest, but wool layer both under and over the flight suit makes it possible.

The Cub has a block and oil sump heater, as well as a battery charger. Still, hand starting in -12C is a rather nippy affair

-12C at the airfield, and -20 at altitude. Had planned to fly over Rjukan and Gaustatoppen (Mountain) but the clouds canned that plan. (The area of the heavy water sabotage action of SOE fame in WW2)

Made due with a bimble via Notodden (ENNO) and did som R44 intercepting 8)

@M609, it’s 15 years at the end of this month since we spoke to you (briefly) on our way north to Svalbard. Doesn’t time fly ? I would love to fly in Norway again.

@M609, where are you based now ? Norway has had some pretty low temperatures quite far south in recent times.

I’ve moved to a suburb SW of Oslo, working Terminal Control for Oslo Airport. I fly from Hokksund/ENHS, a bit further west.

Still a another Norwegian Army Cub, that I mainly fly, this time (small) part owner of it.

That looks like a good destination for a day out; I'm based at Göteborg Säve/ESGP. I'll keep that in mind when the restrictions end. :thumleft:
