This would hopefully have been a fly-in report but the RV wasn't vintage enough to attend.

I've done a short write up of the Flywheel event on 23 June. What was most impressive was the Bicester Heritage facility - a great use of former RAF station buildings.

I heard recently that Bicester Heritage and the Windrushers Gliding club aka Bicester Gliding Centre were having problems.
I hope this doesn't mean the airfield being closed, it would make a superb GA airfield; there's no reason powered and gliding couldn't operate side by side; it's being done at Booker and Halton and there's plenty of grass at Bicester to allow it

As an owner of a based aircraft, happy to report no significant issues between Bicester Heritage and the Gliding Centre although, inevitably on an airfield, there are always some individuals with (ahem) opinions to be aired.

There was some kickback last year when both the gliding club and private owners were summarily removed from the relatively well-maintained larger hangar and moved into the smaller pre-war hangar which at the time had enjoyed little if any post-war maintenance. It's still a bit of a slum, but when you can enjoy a great heritage airfield with a 700m+ into wind grass landing area, its well worth it!
