I’m going out to Knoxville to pick up a brand new SR22T G6 in July - then fly it home to White Waltham. Hoping to take the Iqaluit - Sondestrom / Nuuk Route this time as we did Goose Bay - Narsarsuaq - Kulusuk - Reykjavik in 2015).

Very smart move - you'd get bored doing the same trip time and time again!

The Canadians are getting rather hotter on carrying HF for the Goose-Narsarsuaq route these days. Alternative routes are becoming necessary.

Interesting read and was a bit surprised to read:

80%SpO2 is considered as low as you would want to go

80% is pretty low.

Blood contains oxygenated haemoglobin and deoxygenated haemaglobin.
Oxygen saturation is the percentage of oxygenated blood.
The sample should be measured in arterial blood (= SaO2)
Saturation monitors measure peripheral circulation levels (=SpO2).
The saturation monitor reading is usually a good approximation to the arterial reading.
Professionally SpO2 levels below 90 % gave me concern, levels around 80% were brown trouser moments.

Thanks Gasman...it was just for my re-edumication (I did Biology many decades ago and have forgotten...but the terms sprung a recollection). Particularly from a first-aid course as to why mouth-to-mouth recuscitation works; that was all about partial pressure of O2
