@Miscellaneous, indeed, it would normally be myself in the Maule / TB20 and David in his TB20 for the opening weekend (he was away in Jersey with his new SR22 this weekend). The combination of the opening weekend coinciding with Easter and superb weather on the Scottish west coast for the whole of the 4-day weekend, brought the people out on Easter Sunday with the apron being packed with various types from PA32 to auto-gyros (about 20 aircraft in total, I believe, including some regulars such as Derek Pake and CharlieSixtySix). With a revised breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, offering an enhanced selection of great dishes (the wee dram on the haggis starter and the Tiramisu dessert were to die for
), and a very happy Brendan and Allison and staff, with a very positive vibe, the weekend was superb. Routing up on the Friday via Blackpool, we took in Stornoway on the Saturday (seals in the harbour) and the Colonsay Hotel on Colonsay on the Sunday, before returning south on the Monday via Oban for fuel and Sleap for cheaper fuel
. On the Sunday night, Brendan lit the fire pit so that we could stare at the cloudless, impressive night sky, wee dram in hand, waiting for those elusive Northern Lights. Brendan uploaded a great video of the full apron to the hotel Facebook page.
