.. :) , but with restrictions. Obviously, fly-ins (welcome) also depend on Staverton rules, which I believe still include PPR for non-based arrivals. Also, Twy R to the Museum is off 09/27, which is still, I believe, the only one available.

There was a 'walk-through' rehearsal today, with 'rostered' guides on duty, and other members as 'visitors. It seemed to go OK, and should be so if the public observe the signage.

Twy R and the museum apron is looking a bit shaggy, although I've taxied with a spatted nosewheel on worse! We have asked the airport to remow before we reopen.

Day seems to have gone well. Particularly welcome visitors were two flyins, a Gloster built Hurricane and a Nanchang, taking advantage of the newly mown taxiway and apron :-)

Firstly apologies that we couldn't publicise this beforehand, this was due to the risk of overcrowding and our social distancing procedures.

I wonder if this is going to be the new normal, and how this will affect many events that need sponsorship :?: Its kinda odd to have an event, yet not want people to be there...but then publicise it AFTER its happened...secretly... :|

I agree, but I should mention that there was a bit more to this story. The principal reason for the visit of this Gloster-built Hurricane to the area was to honour the 100th birthday of one of the GAC Brockworth workers who had built them and, later, the Typhoons there. Peggy Fisher had taken an interest in the JAM Typhoon cockpit restoration project, which she had visited several times. It was a group of JAM Trustees who organised the invitation. The flight, postponed by a week because of weather, unfortunately meant it came just after her death, but it did overfly both her house and the former factory site. The fact that JAM had reopened serendipitously gave it and the YaK-18 photo chase aircraft somewhere to park between sorties, and the airport kindly remowed the taxiway and apron for them.

JAM got some helpful publicity out of it, including local TV, which may have helped boost the 2nd weekend's visitor numbers over the first's. The 3rd starts today ..
