Is this another example for the cost sharing/charter thread? I'm not casting stones but it seems this is OK but doing much the same through Wingly would be frowned on.

No one has offered to give a lift to anyone on this thread so far, and if I were to do so, there would certainly be no money involved. The principle I use when flying is that I'm going anyway so if others want to come along and fill seats then that is fine by me, and they won't get charged a penny.

Yep, I see no offer given so far, but if I did, I wouldn't charge a penny, despite the offer of cost sharing. Others may of course elect to do otherwise, and that's up to them.

Nice approach to a friendly thread.

What is the problem with asking for information?

We've got a long thread where people are condeming the use of a site on the internet to put pilots and people who want to fly in touch but here, on another internet site, the same thing seems to be totally acceptable.

Cost sharing is allowed, end of. We where talking about Friedrichshafen and who is going. Someone asked for a lift, so what. Please start another thread, if you want to rattle on about what should and should not be allowed.
Bulshit thread drift just discourages people from posting.

Your rudeness and hostility is what puts people off. If you can't behave in a civilised, mature and polite manner then you would be better not posting at all.

I don’t think I will be putting off anyone who is following this thread for what it is about. I do find thread drift as we have here annoying, and reserve the right to say so.
I have not even begun to be rude or hostile.

Have just booked to fly back on Lufthansa.

Best of luck for those of you flying down. Hope some of you manage to share some costs if you need to, without upsetting the forum cost police ! :D

Hope to see some of you at the show.

I am not sure what days I am there otherwise I might have offered you a lift back. Though flying back to Manchester direct is probably less faff than getting to the south of England with me.

We may be able to organise a meal on the waterfront in Friedrichshafen for the Friday night (12th). A load of us got together for a meal and beers last year.
