A great flight to and from Bordeaux, a thoroughly enjoyable break. Norman one of my POB aged 97 had a wonderful four days, wined and dined, feted wherever he went.
Norman asked if we could route via Rennes on the return leg. We gained clearance to fly over the city at 6000 ft. Norman was last there in 1944, to bomb the airfield from 20,000 ft in his 101 squadron Lancaster. He was the bomb aimer, now the last man standing from his crew of 8.
