I know it was a long time ago .........BUT............Elba is ruddy expensive
We dropped in there for a looksee in 2001 and the fuel was truly eye wateringly astronomically expensive. The landing fee was not as smarting on the eyes, but was way more costly than the usual.
Yes - It has to import its fuel, but so does Alderney !!!
It's a shame that such a lovely destination is basically remembered by this soul, for it's high aeronautically associated costs.

Best option for cheap fuel for Elba is to drop in to Corsica first, it's only a short flight - either Bastia (36nm from Elba) or Calvi (66nm)

As of June 2017 landing for a sub 1000kg single at Calvi was around €25 and Avgas €1.80
