I found a fresh bottle of Highland Park in the cupboard last night and thought of Keef while a sipped a glass of it.

PeteL, isn't that low-level along the Mersey brilliant, well worth the risk!

Westmoreland Flyer, I could not help but read GF in your post as girlfriend!

I share the seat with a Highland Park and a few killer midges. The view, even now, is gorgeous.

Hikers and climbers will tell you that "skin so soft" by Avon, is a wonderful repellent of midges. Apparently, many filling-stations on the tourist-routes, actually stock the stuff.

cracking photo, Gromit! :thumleft:

oi, that's my home town  :)

[well, my first UK home town after a nomadic childhood]

The 'low-level' route was the standard VFR route to Speke [sic, before the 'new runway' was built] from the North. It often ended in a direct or (loosely interpreted!) 'base' join to approriate runway if wind was from NE-SE.
