In this time of turmoil I was reminded that there is some continuity to cling to.........

Yesterday I went to the annual Vernon service and lunch at Merchant Taylors. This was endowed in the will of one John Vernon who was Master of the Company in 1609 and died in 1616

By patrimony or by redemption in other words your parent is a member or you open your wallet, but you’ll still have to pass an interview and in the case of redemption have sponsors in the membership.

PS, I assume there is a link with Merchant Tailors school in Crosby?

Yes and other Merchant Taylor’s schools as well.
