You could even use the solution to Absurdle as your first Lewdle. Perhaps they're getting in on the act. I can't believe that it happened by chance.

I played for the first time yesterday and I'm 2/2. Got it in four today before seeing the hints here.

There was a game show on Swedish TV in the 90s, called "Lingo" IIRC, with the exact same rules. You played in pairs and my brother and I auditioned but weren't chosen.

Was there something similar in the UK (or elsewhere)?

In that case there's a toe-curlingly naff programme on afternoon TV (ITV 3pm) -- 'Lingo' -- which is just waiting for you..................

If it was toe-curling back then we have to wonder why you are still watching?

Today in 4. 16/16

From my 'feeder' word I got four incorrect letters and one correct letter but wrong position. I then got the right answer on my first attempt !! I like this game :D

Wholly depressing when your first punt delivers zilch.

I suppose in truth it actually excludes five letters, so isn't really zilch.

I'm only watching this thread for its etymological willy-waving contest, (sorry girls) not the TV cr ap.

But I do have access to the TV timetable paper by virtue of my Saturday sub to the Sun titty-paper.

I like to keep informed.

some of us may already be, which is why I've not embarked on Wordle

What’s so nice is that it’s one word a day only, and takes less than 5 minutes.

So for us, it’s a little aside whilst having lunch.
