We are constantly being told that password "strength" is a key feature if we want secure 'online' dealings.
I will admit that I don't have individual passwords for every online account that I use, but I do have have a dozen passwords, of around 12 - 15 characters, that I use. They all have a mixture of symbols, numbers and letters (upper and lower case)
There are numerous online password strength checkers, some are well known high profile names, others less so. However, I have noticed some incredible inconsistencies in the results when using these 'on line' strength checkers.
On several occasions when entering a 10+ character password (with a good mixture of characters) I have found that I get to say 10 characters , which show very good strength, then when I add one more character the security rating takes a nose dive. Can anyone explain why???
Is there one password checker that can "really" be rated above all others ???
