Last nightat 03.00 hours the front door bell rang--noone there and no other house that I could see was answering their front door. This happened before and so after changing the ring on the old bell bought a new different model.
As there was a storm last night I put it down to that. However this afternoon it went again -but with a different tune--gone from westminster chimes to a bugle !!!.
Is the bell developing a mind of its own--does it want to be a military bell.. Never known a bell to change tunes.

Do not worry @ROG , prob just bad contacts / water ingress, or more likely the batteries are going. Same thing happened with a relative's doorbell.
It was unfortunate timing, having a doorbell ringing on its own in the middle of the night 2 days after a death in the family though....
