Don't know if anyone has experienced them, but some 'SPAR' shops, alongside their coffee machines, do a snack called a 'Potato Dog'.
It's a frankfurter with mashed potato wrapped round it and apparently deep fried.
Delicious!

[Blackadder]Sounds almost exactly the same as [/Blackadder] a "Corn Dog" from the good ol' US of A, but with a twist.

Poland do something similar too.

Like the ‘Chicken & Mushroom Slice’ that sit alongside them. You bite into it 300 yards down the road after you leave the Shell filling station, and it spurts lava-hot beige juice all across your chin.

Further (and especially since Skydriller has responded), I must recommend a croque monsieur (and croque madame) as being perfect filling-station snacks when traveling in France

ah, that picture suggests a roll called a veka (Czech name spelling; Polish names include weka; many variants). It is the basis/wrap of many Central/East Europe snacks:

Visitors to Hong Kong may even have tasted it. I, for one, can't get within 50 yards of a stall selling it before I cover my nose and turn in the opposite direction.

Possibly the most vile smell on this whole planet. The old nullah at Kai Tak was like the sweetest rose by comparison.

Viv hated the smell of Hong Kong. We'd put it down to the boiled pork before I read that.
