@T6Harvard, @rf3flyer has it. It is a community run ferry which crosses the very short crossing between Kylerhea and Glenelg across the narrow fast flowing Kyle Rhea. From memory it has been measured as high as 12kts.

In a former life it operated at Ballachulish prior to the bridge opening circa 1975.

Since this is an aviation forum, it's crabbing. We'll forgive them their error.

The crossing from above on Tuesday.

Snipped heavily.

A nice scenic road to ride along. Lunch at the Glenelg Hotel, then ride onto the ferry for a quick ride around Skye. :thumleft:
Wonderful!

The video was intended to demonstrate 'crabbing', for a change my intention was not to promote the area or local eateries.

@Nick, yes the area is beautiful. A drive over the hill in to a secluded remote glen. The fish and chips at the Glenelg Inn were lovely. The brewery not far from there ( as discussed recently) is worth a visit, as are the Brochs.

@Paul_Sengupta it is worth the experience if one appreciates engineering. Sitting in your car on the ferry as they manually turn the table through 180 degrees is an 'interesting' experience. The ferry featured on a TV ad promoting digital TV at the time of switch over. Not sure if it was a national ad. Worth noting it only runs March - Oct. Bit of a detour only to discover it isn't running.
