Dave W wrote:Final season of Bosch (from the Michael Connelly novels) mentioned earlier recently made available on Amazon Prime. Superb, with an enormously talented cast and well-rounded characters throughout.

We are also thoroughly enjoying the 6 seasons of Justified, a series based around a maverick (of course!) US Marshal in contemporary Kentucky. Witty and gritty.

Mrs Rusty and I have just finished watching all episodes of Justified - absolutely brilliant. Up there with Breaking Bad.

Sunday 11 July, 1900, 5 Select: 'Secrets of the Royal Flight'
(Not expecting any profound revelations nor insights, but there might be some nice footage :) )

Monday 12 July:
BBC2, new series (usually start in autumn not summer!):
2000: Only Connect
2030: University Challenge
.. and, BBC4, 2350: 'Missions', series 1, episodes 3-5 back-to-back
(French SciFi series about manned mission to Mars; ISTR episodes 1-2, and possibly more, were on BBC4 quite a long time ago. These are marked in Radio Times as Repeats, but were not in same timeslot this week)

We watched the first Time the other night: “a bit grim” is quite the understatement :D Thought Sean Bean was fantastic.

Looking forward to watching the rest.

Well, what a brilliant programme that was. Superb writing, great casting & wonderful acting. Top.

Thanks for the tip. :thumleft: I've watched two of the episodes thanks to iPlayer and a VPN. Definitely not a remake of "Porridge" (for those who remember that show).

I wouldn't be surprised if Swedish television bought it. They usually buy the high-end British crime dramas, and rightly so.

For those who have HBO: Mare of Easttown (7 episodes) is worth a watch. Kare Winslet plays a police officer in a working-class town in the Rustbelt. Set in a small universe it has a British feel about it with stereotypical village where everyone knows everyone.

No big names other than the protagonist, but solid performances all around.

We enjoyed both series, but it was sad that the more attractive Rebecca didn't make it into series 2.

Sorry for being so male and superficial, I am sure the actress / actor in the second series is a very nice person too.
