I was torn. The first series is very close to the books and Ida Engvol is very convincing in the role as a young lawyer. By the second series the charachter is supposed to be "more mature" but her replacement doesnt pull off the charachter in the same way.

Rob P wrote:We enjoyed both series, but it was sad that the more attractive Rebecca didn't make it into series 2.

Sorry for being so male and superficial, I am sure the actress / actor in the second series is a very nice person too.

Thankfully it’s still not illegal to find a woman attractive.

Another old film, possibly with weak plot  , but with aviation connexions on Talking Pictures TV next week:

Fri 20 Aug 1350: "The world owes me a living" (1945)

"..credits acknowledged the assistance and co-operation of the Air Ministry and the de Havilland Aircraft Company. "

[some Forumites may also be pleased to note that a Sunday evening episode of 'The Archers' returns on 15 Aug :) ]

@Rob P Are you getting your Crimson Rivers mixed up, Rob? Nadia Farès was in the (unrelated) film. I'm hoping for a return of Erika Sainte … (You can blame @kanga for putting in links to the film while referring to the series!)

A bit more modern, but about warfare all the same, is "The Secret World of Chocolate/Crisps/Biscuits". narrated by Dawn French they tell the story of the battles for supremacy between the likes of McVities/Jacobs, Golden Wonder/Walkers and Cadbury's/Rowntrees. More interesting than it sounds, and clearly there is still a lot of rancour.....
On All4.

I’m watching this now, it’s not that bad, has had a number of great quotes so far and it shows that nothing much has changed with NIMBYs and random changes in regulations to catch the long suffering GA pilot out

More, probably familiar to many Forumites, aviation oldies next week:

Sun 29 Aug, 1900, Talking Pictures TV: 'Angels One Five' (1952)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angels_One_Five
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046714/

Fri 3 Sep, Film4, 1505: 'The way to the stars' (1945)

[one of the earliest and best British films attempting to portray interaction between RAF and USAAC on a wartime UK base; script by Terence Rattigan (RAF) and others]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Way_to_the_Stars
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038238/

Also, intriguing title but gists (below) do not explain aviation connexion:

Thu 2 Sep, BBC4, 2100: 'Great Moments in Aviation' (1993)

[only 2* from Radio Times, but has Vanessa Redgrave, John Hurt, Dorothy Tutin, and script by Jeanette Winterson]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Moments_in_Aviation

"British romantic drama film set on a 1950s passenger liner. The film follows Gabriel Angel (Rakie Ayola), a young Caribbean aviator who falls in love with the forger Duncan Stewart (Jonathan Pryce) on her journey to England. Stewart is pursued by his nemesis Rex Goodyear (John Hurt), and the group are supported by Dr Angela Bead (Vanessa Redgrave) and Miss Gwendolyn Quim (Dorothy Tutin), retired missionaries who become lovers during the voyage. "

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107042/

"A young woman becomes involved with a man who not only may be an art thief, but a murderer."
