Looking for something lightweight and requiring little effort for substantial reward I discovered that one of my favourite films is now free* on Prime

Ronin

DeNiro, Reno, Bean et al. Well staged motoring carnage and the justly famed line "What color is the boathouse at Hurford?"

Rob P

*I think we may have a non-cancelled MGM sub, so if you can't get this free on Prime I apologise.

Sat 23 Oct, Ch4, 1900: 'The Lancaster Bomber at 80 with David Jason'

perhaps unlikely to yield facts previously unknown to us nerds, but RT gist promises 'Military historians, authors and veteran crew members .. fresh perspectives ..'

.. and another chance to see:

Thu 28 Oct, Film4, 1640: 'The way to the stars' (1945)

[one of the earliest and best British films attempting to portray interaction between RAF and USAAC on a wartime UK base; script by Terence Rattigan (RAF) and others]

But guaranteed to feature a minor 'celeb' having an experience at no cost to himself that you and I would donate kidneys for.

I hate these programmes.

It's getting a lot of press at the moment due to the new series, but if you've not watched it, Succession is brilliant. Sky / Now TV needed (or other means...), but well worth watching if you can.

Never have such a bunch of unlikeable characters created such gripping TV.

Not a series for those easily offended

Anyone watching “Lupin” on Netflix? Ten episodes in two parts. Available in French or dubbed into English. It’s a great crime thriller - the film equivalent of a page-turner!

Advice, please:

I see in the bumper 2-week Christmas/New Year RT that all 8-parts of the 'Alex Rider' TV series are being shown back to back on E4 on Sun 19 Dec from 2000. It is annotated as 'formely shown on Amazon Prime'. We are a Freeview-only household ..

I'd welcome critiques from any Forumites who've seen (any of) it/them. Worth watching, or at least recording ? I note it centres on a 'teenage spy'; is it really intended for a teenage or younger audience ?

We watched it on Amazon prime and it’s eminently suitable for watching by Adults. I suppose It’s a little “empty headed” but we found it quite entertaining and watched the whole series and were quite disappointed when it ended.

I fear I didn't get past the first half hour, but that possibly wasn't a fair trial.

Now I know Wilco is in it, and we are having a month of Netflix I'll certainly give it a go, but as I understand it the main attraction is ladies showing their chests so I think the novelty will wear off pretty quickly.

Remembering being suckered into actually buying a DVD (remember them) of Breaking Bad, another Forum favourite, and being bored out of my skull by it.
