More good news for England expected later today:

Ministers are considering scrapping the requirement for double-jabbed people returning to the UK to take PCR tests.

The traffic light system could also be simplified, with the amber list removed entirely.

It's great to be getting back to normal again. Well done us. :thumleft:

"Alderney records first Covid-related deaths"

This was announced in a press release on Tuesday, it's very sad but the two were extremely vulnerable and it seems died with Covid rather than of Covid, there are 5 more in hospital with the disease at present and 19 known cases in total.

I'm slightly mystified that hand sanitising is almost obsessive on the island but mask wearing pretty limited.

At the risk of stating the obvious, it doesn't seem to have done them much harm to not be wearing masks.

How did Covid get into Alderney though?

Respect is due to the junior BBC journo who kept a literary straight face to write...

Many people have pointed out that the side effects Nicki described could be those of the sexually transmitted disease, chlamydia, and the state of her cousin's friend's testicles has since been retweeted nearly 90,000 times.

Apparently her cousin's friend's girlfriend has called off the wedding.
