Of course, that also coincided with the end of term and, therefore, the end of all the tests at school of asymptomatic pupils who will now not show as cases at all.

They started going down the week before.

@johnm This is the 2nd week.

With 46,000 cases reported last Monday, I am not certain that I follow your point

After a year and a half we should all be used to high reporting on a Monday so let's use pictures instead.

The trend at the end of this week is the interesting question. Fingers firmly crossed.
Alderney is now demanding proof of supervised LFT with a negative outcome as well as the no travel outside the CTA and double vaccination requirements.

The 'no travel outside the CTA' seems an interesting requirement.

No travel outside the CTA in the previous 14 days to be precise.....otherwise 10 days quarantine end of story....

Only Cyprus and Gib have a higher incidence than the CTA at present.

I have no idea of the logic except that it's a convenient way of limiting non-quarantine arrivals as part of a staged re-opening.

It's a reasonable approach since no-one knows the actual incidence just measured incidence and measurement varies wildly from country to country.

Is anything, any country is doing actually based on data and logic?

For example : why is the 2x pfizer vaccination I have had in France, different to the 2x pfizer vaccination given in the UK when it comes to entering the UK??

A good question.

Some try to, or at least hide their incompetence maybe better.

For some unfathomable reason the Dutch seem to want to celebrate the minimal dip in cases they have, after having their 'freedumbday' a few weeks ago and the associated rise in ITU cases, admissions and positive cases, with letting the reigns go completely again, including night clubs.

It’s a coherent risk assessment IMHO. Risk assessment will qualify the likely reliability of data and take it into account amongst lots of other elements.

They are going round again as we speak.

It's made the world feel better for the last eighteen months, why would they stop now.
