Bottom line (at the top) : if I want to watch a movie download / stream of a specific movie, which are the best/reputable sources from which one can do this in 2019?

Context : In his book “Talking to my Daughter”, Yanis Varoufakis uses allegory to relate various myths, books and films to economics. One of the films is Blade Runner. I’m not the world’s greatest movies buff so, unsurprisingly have not seen it.

This raises two issues, firstly there are a number of versions. For a Blade Runner virgin (as it were) which should I watch - at the present time i’ve no desire to watch more than one?

Secondly, given that I really no longer have a DVD, it’ll have to be a download/stream. It’s not available from Amazon but is from Apple. Are there other reputable sources of movies..... I know that there will probably be a million and one disreputable sources.

Thx

Do you like a happy ending? Then go for the original, otherwise probably the final cut as it was properly remastered to 4K.

So I guess it’s really a case of choosing which super-rich mega-mogul that I with to give my pennies to. (Excluding Mr Bezos for the current example as he’s unable to accept my pennies for some reason.)

Thx both.

KingJames wrote:If you had a blue ray player, buy it off Amazon marketplace or ebay, watch it and sell it on. Just like lovefilm but it costs you postage.

I have a BlueRay but no easily available HDMI. My experience of LoveFilm was that half the DVDs failed to play and they sent a trilogy in the wrong order!

For me, THE best movie of all time.

Probably because I was in my formative years when it came out and there’s some deep stuff in there.

The speech about things he’s seen and done, and yet it’s all worthless anyway because he’s going to die, has affected the way I’ve lived my life.

The original for me, the directors cut is a different film, with a different message.

Got to be the original. I wouldn’t call it a happy ending.

BTW, you’ll need to watch it more than once.
