How are adverts targeted on the forum?

For help, advice and discussion about stuff not related to aviation. Play nice: no religion, no politics and no axe grinding please.

As a low number poster, but avid reader, I'm a bit bemused about these adverts, I think I'm missing out! :?

I use Chrome (V71.0.3578.98), on Win10, with Ghostery installed and see absolutely nothing or rather, I don't see any adverts :D

I've used Ghostery for a while and even though for some sites / pages I have to switch if off to get the site working, on the whole it's quite good.
