Although mostly noted for his paintings of wildlife in their African homeland and his exquisite rendering of steam locomotives that echoed the power of those wild beasts of the Veldt, his aviation art was for me more memorable.
I recall watching an interview with him in his house and in the background a picture of a Lockheed Constellation. I've never seen it elsewhere and wonder if it was his painting.
All three of his genres are the less for his passing.
