I have a couple of interesting videos that I would like to upload to Youtube - and thereby share them with the forum, however they are bigger than the 128MB maximum allowed by Youtube.

How can I reduce their size to get them onto Youtube?

The videos were taken on an iPhone and are in ".MOV" format.

I have them on iPhone, and on iPad (air) - and on MACbookAir laptop.

I am not into video editing (at least not yet) and only have the Apple standard iMovie app - which I've never learned to use.

Any ideas?

Youtube doesn't have a limit that low?? Must be some other issue.

If no joy with YouTube, you might consider Vimeo as an alternative. They embed OK in the forums.

I've uploaded as much as 1.2GB to YouTube so it must be something else. It may be the codec the iPhone saves as. You say it's .MOV format but that can encompass so much.
My son makes movies as part of his job and he always tells me mine are too long so, without having seen your footage, consider at least getting familiar enough with iMovie to be able to cut out the tedious bits, endless taxying, waiting at the hold, and so on.

On newly set up accounts, YouTube limit based on length of video, but there way may be a size limit too. Although 128MB seems crazily low.

I believe you can verify your account to up that limit.

The unverified limits are 2GB / 15 minutes. The verified limit is 128GB (!) / 12 hours (!!)

Are you actually getting an error when uploading to YT? As others have said 180MB should be no issue.
