Tired and not paying attention

Hopefully others might not make the same mistake.
Something that happened to me a long time ago and I have never forgotten it. I arrived in a brand new Beech Musketeer, at a country aerodrome, in the evening, the day before a flying display.
All was well. I joined the circuit making blind calls on the RT. The landing was perfect and I began a roll to the end to exit. TO BE CONFRONTED BY A LIGHTWEIGHT FENCE WHICH HD BEEN PLACED ACROSS THE RUNWAY. Of course I had not been vigilant enough and landed on 22 instead of 27. A lucky escape which nobody noticed, except me.
