Interesting that an IFR rated pilot got himself into such a panic, and really took his eye off the ball.

I liked him - he's clearly a good guy.

And although he made some schoolboy errors, to his credit, he didn't do an Air France 447. Enough of his attention was still all present and correct, flying the airplane, while he got it figured out.

There are plenty of people that didn't make it out of situations like that.

That’s a very valuable video, and huge credit to the guy for posting it. He just may save a life or two!

However. Don’t overlook the fact that he had some significant advantages, and luck, that can’t be relied upon. For many those events will result in a sub-optimal conclusion!

This ought to be in the Student section IMHO. The guy isn't a student but the mistakes he made are ones we all make from time to time and from which we can all learn. Very valuable.
