:thumright: thanks @AndyR

I feel like I am still recovering from the ST tbh!
I have family / work commitments for the much of next week but I've promised to go to the Friday social at my flying club

CAA email says turn round time is 10 working days so I'm not going to ask for my Instructor to sign me out, I'll wait for MY LICENCE :D

Immediate plan is a little bimble (kneeboard plog and taking SD on my phone), just because I can. I'm looking forward to it hugely.
May have difficulty booking an ac though - they have 2 offline due an annual and a landing accident on a XC. Bliddy students

There are also 2 grass strips I want to bother asap, so I'll book time for those.

Ooh, and I've been invited to rhs with a pal and his wife, and to join a fly in at Leicester.

That should keep me busy for a few weeks.

I'd love to fly in to Shobdon. And. And.... this is all assuming it stops raining

You could always use the time until your licence arrives to stock the freezer. Victoria sponge, coffee cake, carrot cake... :thumright: Not so keen on chocolate cake. :puker:

Ooh, where’s the fly in?
Can it be sort of half way between Manchester and Duxford?

Is there a spreadsheet for attendees / to set a date yet?

What’s the name of the fly in?

Poll… we need a poll.

Good point about self belief. For the many, many hours spent learning to land I always thought I SHOULD be able to do it and although I got fed up as time marched on, I was determined to push through.

Conversely, I expected Nav to be impossible, but I've loved it from day one. I had a huge amount of help on nav theory and lots of practical advice from @Duncan M who stupidly volunteered for what I imagine he thought would be a few quick emails. Little did he know

Very happy to be of some help. I hope you get some great flying in later this year after that long awaited skills test.

Sorry, I've been away so not been on here for a while.

CONGRATU-FLIPPIN'-LATIONS!!!!!!

As I'm new to the forum I've only read the final few pages of your journey and it sounds like it's been a real challenge with weather etc. I'll have to read the lot one day soon, no doubt as a newbie there's a load I'll be able to learn from it!

Very well done again Captain, do shout if you are going to Leicester and I'll buy you a celebratory, erm, cuppa I guess!

Thank you.

Read my thread all the way through? It would be a Herculean task only suited to someone on a desert island with nothing else to do! Maybe skim the parts of training that you are interested in and avoid my many, many hours of circuits. Oh so many circuits.

I have a Leicester loyalty card from my solo landaway and QXC visits and I'll be sure to pop over before too long. Curry night is beckoning

Does 9 days qualify as "fashionable late", or is it simply tardy?! Congratulations @T6Harvard, and welcome to the club! Give me a shout if you fancy a fly-in somewhere and I'll buy you lunch!

Seriously late but massive congratulations - hope we get to meet up sometime in the near future. I'd offer a spin in my Foxbat but it'd just be like a lighter, roomier, more modern version of the 152 :)

@russp , I'm not going to turn down an invitation to fly in anything*, and a Foxbat sounds very appealing! :D

*actually, at this point in time I'm very wary of gyrocopters and flexwings. Sorry to our fabulous flexwing fliers  Other open cockpit types I'll happily consider

Someone at my club has offered me a ride in a beautiful Cessna 303 Crusader, which I'm very much looking forward to
