I have done 10 hours towards my PPL in a C152 at Stapleford, but just moved across from East London to Twickenham.

The closest school that I have found is White Waltham, which seems pretty decent. I plan to head out there soon to have a chat with the team, but wondering if there are any other schools that I should be looking at in the area?

I am undecided whether to continue on the PPL path or go fixed wing microlight, so open to all options.

Any input most appreciated.

Ah perfect, that would shave 20/30 minutes off the drive each way, will be dropping into Fairoaks to check them out as well.

I recently did my PPL at Waltham, really nice bunch and if you can fly in and out of Waltham it will put you in good stead going anywhere else. Steve at Blackbushe Aviation is also worth a call, little bit further out but a really good outfit.

I can certainly vouch for WLAC, great venue, nice clubhouse and three runways.
Once you're a member you can also opt to join up on the weekly friday/saturday trips as pax, where a group of usually 5-10 A/C fly out to different airfields near and afar. I found this invaluable to see how flying is really done and get a feel for the variety of airfields (and aircraft!) out there.
