I'm sure this has been asked before but it's the kind of thing that's liable to change and what I've seen on the subject has been contradictory.

I have about 30 odd training hours including a few solo dating from over 10 years ago. Taking up flying again with the aim of this time getting a licence I've been told I might be able to get credit for at least some of these hours if I ask the CAA nicely. Looking at the CAA website I can't see who exactly I should contact, my instructor said to be careful not to ask the wrong dept or they'll just say 'no' to be on the safe side.

Is it worth trying to get some of these hours recognised, and who should I contact?

Thanks
